So I was trying to save a few bucks on replacement parts for my old SuperLite and found this aftermarket exhaust valve online for about 1400 dollars, which is a good chunk less than what the real one runs. Ran it on a shallow inspection job in Morgan City, maybe 60 feet, nothing crazy. About 20 minutes into the dive I felt water coming in and looked down and my whole faceplate was half full. Had to surface slow and dump it, and the dive was done. We tore the valve apart back on deck and the seat was machined wrong, off by just enough that it never sealed right. I sent it back and ate the cost of the wasted day, which was way more than what I saved. What aftermarket parts have you all tried that actually held up, and which ones should I just never cheap out on again?
