Did a full gas mix check before a 120ft dive... found the O2 analyzer reading was off by 4 percent

I noticed a lot of newer divers just trust the analyzer numbers without double checking the calibration first. Last week on a job off the coast of Galveston, I watched a guy run his mix through a unit that hadn't been zeroed in 3 months. His tank showed 32% O2 but when I pulled out my backup unit it read 28%. That's a huge difference at depth. The shop we rented from didn't even include calibration gas with their kit. Are you guys running a field verify before every single fill or just trusting the shop numbers? I want to hear what system you all use for this.

A buddy of mine ran a 30% mix through an uncalibrated analyzer once and hit narcosis way earlier than expected.

Calibrate before every fill or you're guessing at depth.
