Got sent down on a routine inspection at the old Chevron pier and about 15 minutes in my main air hose started leaking at the crimp, hissing like a slow tire. I keyed for the tender twice and got nothing back, turns out he'd gone up to the truck to grab a sandwich even though we always keep a man on the radio. I had a decent secondary but the current was pulling me against the piling and I couldn't get a good seal on it with one hand. Ended up buddy breathing off the standby diver's octo, which was fine but we lost the whole morning tide window. What do you guys keep in your kit for a hose failure when your surface guy goes quiet, because I'm not trusting another tender without a backup plan on my harness.
