Nearly got my umbilical snagged on a rebar cage at the Corpus Christi marina job
We were doing a routine inspection on a pier footing at the Corpus Christi marina about 6 weeks ago, and I had my umbilical routed over the top of a rebar cage like I'd done a hundred times. The current picked up out of nowhere and started dragging my line across a jagged tie wire cluster, and I felt the tug before I even saw what was happening. I had maybe 40 feet of slack out and my tender was yelling over the comms to cut the job. Now I run my line under the cage and clip it off at two points before I even start my inspection. Anyone else had a close call with current sneaking up on a shallow job like that?
