Pro tip: I used to just use a standard dive knife for everything, but after a salvage job in the Gulf last year where I needed to cut a 2-inch polypropylene line fast, I switched to a blunt-tip rigging knife with a serrated edge.
The serrated blade chewed through that wet line in about 10 seconds without the risk of a sharp point snagging my umbilical, so what specific cutting tools do you guys carry for different jobs now?

Ever think about adding a small pair of bolt cutters for that really tough stuff?

My buddy tried that last week, actually. Snapped the cheap ones he bought right on a padlock.

Yeah, my friend Mark grabbed some compact bolt cutters for his bike lock. The hinge gave out on the third cut, sent a piece of metal flying past his ear. He said it felt like the whole tool just folded in half.
