Rigged my bailout bottle on a quickdraw instead of a pony strap, and a job in Galveston settled it
Two months back I was setting up my bailout bottle and had to pick between the pony strap I always ran or a quickdraw clip a buddy swore by. I went with the quickdraw and on a 60 foot job off Galveston the clip snagged my harness when I rolled into the water, so I wasted a few seconds fighting it before I even got my reg in. Switched back to the plain pony strap after that and it has not hung me up once. The buddy still runs his quickdraw and swears it is faster on deck. Anyone else had a rig choice that only showed its ugly side once you were actually wet?
