Rope signal vs radio on a 40 foot muddy job in Biloxi, and the rope won
Worked a shallow dock job near Biloxi two weeks back where the tender wanted to run radio only, but I talked him into the old rope pull signal as backup. Halfway through the second dive my comms cut out in the muddy water and that tug on the line is what got me back to the ladder. Radios die in muck, rope does not care about mud or a dead battery. Cost us maybe 10 extra minutes of setup and it saved my butt. Anyone else still keeping line pulls in the rotation on shallow work, or am I the odd one?
