Shoutout to the 2 inch gap trick on my umbilical clamp that saved a 40 minute job
Had the same clamp slip on me twice down at the Coos Bay dock job last Tuesday, so I started setting it a couple inches off the stop mark instead of flush, and it held clean on all four dives, has anyone else messed with the spacing like that?

Man, that spacing trick is a lifesaver. I had my clamp creep on a wet job last month, so I started backing it off about two inches from the stop and it locked in solid every time. Setting it off the mark gives the jaws room to bite instead of fighting the edge.
