Shoutout to the welder who fixed my grinder on a job in Port Arthur
I was on a pipeline repair last month in Port Arthur and my angle grinder died halfway through a cut. A welder on the crew had it running again in ten minutes with just a screwdriver and a zip tie. Anybody else ever had a random guy save your day with a quick fix like that?

I had a guy in Odessa back in '19 rig up a control box with a coat hanger and electrical tape to keep our welding machine running for a whole 12 hour shift. He was a pipeline inspector, not even a welder, just happened to be passing by when we were all staring at a dead unit. Ran like that for three more jobs before we finally replaced it. Sometimes the sketchiest fixes are the ones that hold up best.

Shit man, my best fix was duct tape on a leaky tap at my place. Didn't last three jobs, lasted three days.
