Spent a whole shift just trying to get a single bolt started on a flange in zero viz.

It took me over three hours, mostly by feel (and a lot of swearing into my reg), before I finally got it threaded straight.

Taping a wrench to a fish is a funny mental image... but a small magnetic pickup tool is a real game changer for that. You can keep one in your pocket and just run it over the area by feel. Saves a ton of time and frustration on those blind bolt jobs.

Sounds like you had more patience than me, I would have just taped the wrench to a fish.
