Switched from weight belts to a dry weight harness 2 years ago for hull cleaning gigs in the Gulf

Honestly, I used to fight with a standard weight belt every single dive, getting bruised up and shifting loads. Now with the harness system, I can dial in exactly 40 pounds distributed right and my lower back doesn't ache after 4 hours underwater. Has anyone else made the switch and found it better for long bottom times?

40 pounds on a harness still kills my shoulders after three hours.

Oh man, I was that guy who'd come up looking like I got in a fight with a washing machine, all bruises and pissed off. Switched to a harness maybe a year ago and it's night and day. I mean, I had one shift where I literally fell asleep at 30 feet for a few minutes because I was so comfortable. My hips don't feel like they're being squeezed into a vise anymore. It's way easier to just clip in and go, especially when you're trying to scrape barnacles off a piling without fighting your gear the whole time.
