That time a seal stole my fin off the boat in Newfoundland

I was working a harbor inspection job up in St. John's last fall and left my gear on the gunnel while I was suiting up. This big gray seal just swam right up, grabbed my fin by the strap, and took off with it like it was a toy. My buddy got it on video and the client still brings it up every time we see them. Has anyone else had wildlife mess with their gear while on the surface?

@jason_fisher4 seals probably wanted a souvenir, yours definitely found a toy.

Oh man, that is brutal. Reminds me of the time I was doing some shore diving in California and a sea lion straight up swam off with my gloves. I had them sitting on a rock while I was putting my wetsuit on and this big ol' guy just waddled up, grabbed one, and dove back in. I watched him play with it for like five minutes before he got bored and dropped it. At least your seal didn't try to eat your fin, I think mine was convinced the glove was a fish. Your client hanging onto that video sounds about right, I still hear about the glove from my buddy every time we go to that spot.
