Warning: That cheap $80 underwater housing almost killed my camera
Bought a no-name housing off Amazon for a GoPro. Tested it in a pool, no leaks. First real dive at 30 feet near Port Angeles, water started fogging inside. Couldn't abort quickly enough, got moisture on the lens. Camera was toast after that dive. Anyone else get burned by bargain gear or just me?

Did you even bother to check the seals and grease them up before you took it down to 30 feet? A little user error might have done more damage than the price tag.

Actually, I think there's a small thing worth clearing up here. Most dive watches, even budget ones, don't require you to grease the seals yourself before a 30 foot dive. That's really more of a thing for vintage watches or if you've had the case back opened recently. 30 feet is also really shallow, so unless the watch was already compromised, it should handle that no problem. I mean, checking the seals is never a bad habit, but grease isn't something most people need to mess with for a routine pool or shallow dive. Just my two cents from years of messing around with these things.
