My Saturday food crawl in Providence turned into a $23 gut bomb, and now my friends won't let me pick spots anymore
Two Saturdays ago I dragged four friends to Providence to hit three cheap eats I'd found on a hidden gems blog, starting with a $4 taco spot on Broad Street that was unreal. But then I took us to a "legendary" diner near Atwells that charged $14 for a soggy meatball sub, and two of my friends got sick by the next morning. Here's the debate: should we keep trusting random blogs for hidden spots, or should we only go off word of mouth from people who actually live there? I say the taco stop proved the blog method works, but my buddy swears one bad pick ruins the whole list. What's the last spot someone's blog sent you to that totally bombed?
