One awkward lunch at Luigi's made me swear off buffets for good
Went to Luigi's on Route 9 Saturday with my cousin and noticed the mac and cheese tray had been sitting out since we ordered at 12:30. By 1:45 the cheese was crusted over like a fossil. Then a kid sneezed directly into the salad bar and no one said a thing. For $18.95 a head I expect at least a sneeze guard that works. Has anyone else noped out of a buffet after watching something gross happen, or am I just unlucky?

That mac and cheese detail hits home for me. I worked at a diner in high school and we had to swap out anything on the buffet line every 45 minutes, no exceptions. If that tray was crusted over after an hour and 15 minutes, the kitchen staff either forgot their timer or just didn't care. Did you ever flag down a manager about the salad bar thing, or did you just pay and leave?

Kept thinking the same thing, like if that tray sat out that long the whole setup was probably a mess from the start. Flagging a manager usually just gets you a shrug and a free dessert, so most of us pay and leave.
