That bus driver in Portland was right about the food cart pod
Last month I asked a TriMet driver where to eat near the zoo and he pointed me to a cart pod off Burnside I'd never seen on any list. He said the pupusas at the corner spot beat anything downtown, and honestly he was dead on. I paid $9 for three big ones with curtido and they were better than the $18 plate I had the week before. The whole pod has maybe six carts and a couple of picnic tables, but it's quiet at noon and nobody crowds you. I've gone back twice since, and his tip saved me from another overpriced food hall visit. Has anyone else gotten a solid recommendation from a transit worker that actually panned out?
