The pawn shop on 8th has a secret back room with old tools for $3 each
I stopped by that little pawn shop on 8th street near the laundromat last week just to kill time. The guy behind the counter saw me looking at a rusty hand plane and asked if I liked old tools. I said yeah, so he waved me toward a door behind a beaded curtain. Inside was a whole back room with shelves of old wrenches, files, and chisels, all marked $3 each or 4 for $10. I got a 1950s Stanley level and a set of wood chisels for $9 total. He said most people never ask, so the stuff just sits there. If you go, ask for Ray and tell him you heard about the back room. I'm wondering if other towns have hidden rooms like this too, or if I just got lucky?
