Vent: everyone says the riverwalk is the spot, but the tiny park behind the old Dairy Queen on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie is way better
Went back and forth for weeks between the two. Riverwalk has the crowds, the parking meters, the guy with the sax at 7am. The lot behind the old Dairy Queen off Route 9 has 4 benches, a maple tree, and nobody. Sat there 3 Saturdays in a row with a $3 coffee and saw one other person total, an older lady feeding a cat named Boots. Zero geese chasing kids. Has anyone else picked the no-name spot over the famous one and felt a little bad about it?
