A reddit comment about a pirate chef made me outline a whole novel

Was killing time on r/writingcirclejerk last Thursday and someone posted a prompt about a pirate who only cooks with ingredients he steals from other ships. It was just a joke line but I sat there and outlined 3 chapters in my head. Now I'm actually working on a short story where the crew mutinies because the captain won't share his stolen saffron. Has anyone else pulled a full plot out of a silly comment, or am I just too online? I was up until 2am on this, no joke.

Three chapters from one joke post is honestly the opposite of my brain, I read that same kind of stuff and just think it's funny for five minutes then forget my own grocery list. But hey, if stolen saffron is what gets you writing, more power to you, I'm just saying my outline would've died at "pirate chef.
