Found out my first draft had 47 characters named the same thing

I was scrolling through my Scrivener stats last night and it flagged that I used the name 'Jake' 47 times across 3 chapters. I honestly thought I was being creative with names like Jay, Jackson, and Jaxon, but they all blurred into one guy. Has anyone else run a name frequency check on their WIP and ended up with a panic rename session?

Ever notice how we do this in real life too, like naming three kids in the same class the same name because we just like the sound of it? It's kinda like when everyone in an office starts naming their dogs Luna or Bella without realizing it until there's three of them at the company picnic. That's just how brains work, they latch onto a pattern and run with it until something snaps you out of it, which is probably why that rename session is actually a good thing.
