Just realized writing prompts with strict word counts are actually easier for me
I used to roll my eyes at those 'write a story in exactly 50 words' prompts. Felt gimmicky for years. Then last Tuesday I tried one about a locked door and a train ticket, and man, the limits forced me to cut every useless word. My first draft was 80 words, cutting it down to 50 made the ending WAY stronger. Now I'm hooked on the 100 word ones too. Anyone else find constraints help more than total freedom, or am I just weird?

Freedom feels SCARY. Rules make the day make sense.
