My writing group's prompt about a 'perfect day' went totally sideways last month

We were at the library in Tempe, and someone's deeply personal take made the whole room go quiet for a solid minute. Has your group ever had a prompt land way harder than expected?

Oh man, that's intense. We had a "family heirloom" prompt once. This guy brought in a story about his dad's old Zippo from Vietnam, and it wasn't about the lighter at all. It was about the letter tucked inside it that he found after the funeral. The room just deflated. Sometimes a simple prompt hits a nerve nobody saw coming.
