That community writing contest about spiders made me quit my own story mid paragraph

Three weeks ago my local library ran a 500 word flash fiction contest with a random prompt generator, and I got "a spider that knits lies into webs" so I wrote 200 words then scrapped it because it felt like every other prompt I've seen since. Did anyone else get burned out from prompt challenges that are supposed to spark ideas but just make you compare your garbage to everyone else's polished stuff?
