The 1998 prompt archive I stumbled on had way more depth than I expected
I was digging through an old writing forum from 1998, the kind that still uses frames and guestbooks, just to see what people were posting back then. What surprised me was a prompt about a town where every resident loses one memory each morning, but they vote on which one to lose together. The replies weren't one-liners like a lot of modern prompts, they were full paragraphs with worldbuilding and character notes. I spent like 3 hours reading through 40 pages of responses, and it made me wonder if shorter attention spans have actually made our prompts shallower now. Has anyone else gone back to old prompt sites and felt like the community put more effort into their answers back then?
