The night my outline vanished right before a 40 person critique group
I was in Portland last Tuesday with a flash fiction piece I'd spent two weeks polishing, and my laptop died mid-sentence just as the facilitator called my name. The only copy was on a thumb drive that I'd left in my car, and I had to stand up and tell 40 strangers I forgot to back up my work. Has anyone else had to wing it from memory, or do you keep printed copies for these exact moments?
