I finally stopped chasing keyword density and saw real results

I used to stuff 4-5 keywords into every blog post I wrote, thinking Google would love it. Then last month I wrote a simple 800-word article for a local bakery with no keyword targeting at all, and it outranked their old stuff within 3 weeks. Anyone else noticed that the old SEO rules from 2015 just don't work anymore?

Yeah, you mentioning "no keyword targeting at all" really hits home for me. I used to be that guy who would spend an hour tweaking keyword density in a post, thinking it was the secret sauce. But honestly, after reading some case studies and trying a few "write for people" experiments myself, I totally get what you mean. Google's gotten way smarter about figuring out what a page is actually about, even if you don't spell it out with the same phrase over and over. It's more about answering the question someone's asking than just having the right words on the page.

18 months ago I did a test where I wrote a blog post without even looking at a keyword once. Just wrote what felt right. And guess what. It outranked my other posts that were all keyword-stuffed and painful to read. I mean, I still cringe when I remember my old writing style. It was like I was writing for a robot, not a human. These days I just focus on making sure the post actually answers what someone would type into Google. Feels way more natural and honestly it's less stressful too. Maybe that's just me though.
