Just looked at my 2023 ad spend vs 2024. The difference was painful.
I was reviewing my Google Ads reports for a client last night and noticed something wild. Our cost per click went up about 40 percent from last year but our conversion rate stayed flat. I checked it against three other accounts I manage and they all showed the same pattern. Has anyone else seen their CPC jump this much without any change in quality score or targeting?

CPCs going up without conversion changes just means the market is pricing in more competition, maybe your clients should actually pay more for those clicks if they're still profitable.

Pricing in more competition" is the real answer here. If clicks are still converting and profitable, raising bids is just the cost of doing business now. Simple as that.
