My newsletter hit 5,000 subs and I'm honestly shocked
I started this email list as a side thing for my small business, just sending basic updates maybe once a month. I didn't even use a proper tool at first, just my regular Gmail. Then I switched to MailerLite about eight months ago and actually tried to write useful stuff, like a short guide on local SEO for service businesses. I checked the numbers yesterday and it's at 5,012. That's a real number of people who let me into their inbox. It's not just a vanity metric anymore, it feels like a real audience. I'm kind of freaking out because now I feel pressure to not mess it up. Has anyone else hit a sub count that suddenly made things feel way more serious?

Just a vanity metric" is what gets me. That number is proof you're already doing it right, so why change now?

My buddy runs a small bike repair shop. He hit a thousand followers on his shop's page and completely froze up. Stopped posting for three weeks because he was worried about posting the wrong thing. Finally just put up a picture of a really messed up gear cassette he fixed, with a short caption about chain maintenance. Got more likes and comments than anything he'd ever done. The pressure's real, but sometimes the simple stuff that got you there still works.
