PSA: I started adding a single question to my cold outreach emails and the reply rate doubled
For months, my cold email reply rate was stuck at about 3%, which was super frustrating. I read a blog post that suggested making it about them, not you, so I stopped just listing my services. Now, I end every email with one specific question about their current website or a recent post they wrote (like 'I noticed your homepage doesn't mention your service in Tacoma, is that intentional?'). In the last two weeks, my reply rate jumped to over 6%. It forces a tiny bit of thought from them, I guess. Has anyone else tested something simple like this that actually got people to write back?

Actually, that question sounds a bit like fishing for a problem.

Try asking about their biggest headache right now.

Yeah I saw a blog post that said "biggest headache" is a pretty loaded way to ask that question.
