Quick tip or long game? My A/B test on Instagram Reels surprised me

I was stuck getting like 200 views on Reels for weeks, then I tried this dumb trick of adding a specific sound from a viral trend in Nashville. The Reel with that sound hit 12k views in a day, but the one without got buried. Is it better to chase these quick hacks or stick with building real engagement over time? What's your take?

Have you thought about how long that viral sound trend will actually last though? Those quick hacks can give you a nice boost but they usually die out fast once the trend fades. Maybe mix both, use the trending stuff to get eyes on your page but keep making solid content that people actually want to stick around for.
