Realized I'd been writing meta descriptions completely backwards for 8 months

Had a client call last Tuesday where they gently pointed out my meta descriptions were basically just the first sentence of the blog post copy pasted. I thought I was saving time doing that. Turns out Google values unique, keyword-rich hooks way more than I knew. I spent the whole night redoing about 40 pages of their e-commerce site. Has anyone else had that moment where a client casually dropped a truth bomb on you?

Oh man, that's such a relatable facepalm moment. It's funny how often the "shortcut" turns out to be the long way around, isn't it?

Oh man, tell me about it! I've lost count of how many times I thought I found a faster route only to end up stuck in traffic or on a dirt road. Now I just stick with the main roads, they might take a few extra minutes but at least I know what I'm getting into. @anthony883, your shortcuts sound just like my attempts at "saving time" on the way to school drop-off - never works out the way I planned.
