Stuck between Google Ads and Facebook Ads for a local bakery campaign
I had to choose between Google Ads and Facebook Ads for a small bakery downtown, and I picked Facebook Ads because their targeting felt more personal for a neighborhood spot. After 3 months, we got a 40% increase in foot traffic but almost zero online orders, which was a total surprise. Has anyone else found that one platform just fails for a specific goal like that?

Huh, that's interesting but honestly so what? 40% more foot traffic sounds like a win in my book. If you wanted online orders you should have set up the campaign for that specifically. Facebook is great for getting people in the door but not for driving website sales unless you're pushing the right offer.

Funny you mention that, because I had almost the opposite experience. My buddy runs a taco truck and he went all in on Google Ads because he figured people search for "tacos near me" more than they scroll past ads. He got tons of online orders through his site but hardly anyone actually showed up to the truck. We spent a whole afternoon trying to figure out why and realized his location pin was wrong on Google Maps, so people thought the truck was parked three blocks away from where it actually was. Took him a week to fix it and then foot traffic finally picked up. But yeah, your story reminds me that sometimes the platform works fine, you just have to match it to what you actually want people to do.
