That client who told me my blog posts were 'too technical' actually had a point
After they showed me their bounce rate was 78% on my last three posts about schema markup, I cut the jargon in half and now I write like I'm explaining it to my dad, has anyone else found that dumbing down SEO content actually helps rankings?

Oh man, that's actually a really solid point but I gotta gently push back on calling it "dumbing down." You're not making it dumber, you're making it clearer and more useful for regular people who just want answers. Google's whole thing now is rewarding content that actually helps users understand stuff, not just keyword stuffed jargon. If your bounce rate dropped after you simplified it, that's literally proof it's working better. So yeah, you're on the right track, just reframe it as making it more accessible instead of dumbing it down.

The bounce rate stat honestly changed how I see it. You might be onto something.
