Vent: My A/B test on landing pages just completely backfired after 3 weeks of data

I was testing two headlines for a client's product page. One was emotional, one was direct. The emotional one got 40% more clicks but zero conversions. The direct one had half the clicks but 5 actual sales. So the "winner" depends on what metric you care about, right? I built the whole test wrong from the start. Has anyone else had a split test fail because you picked the wrong goal?
