Can we talk about how Wild Wild West (1999) had its own official website with a Flash game?
I stumbled on it through the Wayback Machine last night. The whole site was this over-the-top steampunk theme with sound effects and a game where you shoot mechanical spiders. It loaded so slow on my old dial-up connection back then. But honestly, the effort they put into that site is something you just don't see anymore. Has anyone else found a weird old movie tie-in site that stuck with you?

...and I heard that the guy who made that Flash game actually pitched a full Wild Wild West video game adaptation but Warner Bros turned him down because they thought the movie would flop. Funny how that worked out, right? I remember digging through that site for hours as a kid, trying to find every secret page and hidden animation. The whole thing had this weird energy where it felt like someone actually cared about making it cool, even if the movie itself was kind of a mess. That site and the one for The Matrix had the same designer, I read somewhere, which explains why they both had that slick interactive vibe.
