GeoCities vs Angelfire debate - which was actually worse?

I found my old Angelfire site from 1999 last night and holy cow, the auto-playing MIDI files and visitor counters were something else. But my buddy swears GeoCities neighborhoods were more of a mess because you'd click on a "Web Design" site and get hit with slow loading gifs of construction workers. I think Angelfire let you have way too much freedom with those tacky guestbooks and sparkly dividers though. Which one do you think aged worse - GeoCities or Angelfire, and did either ever actually work right for you?

lol people really out here acting like this is some kind of life or death choice. Both were equally broken in their own ways, it's not like either one was actually "better" for hosting your Sailor Moon fanfic. Just pick the one with the dancing baby gif and move on, it's not that deep.

Nah, one was clearly better. GeoCities had the dancing baby sure, but Angelfire let you customize your guestbook with actual HTML. That alone made it the superior choice for my Sailor Mercury shrine.
