Just realized my old GeoCities guestbook has over 500 signatures

I was cleaning out some old bookmarks and found the link, and the counter was still there. It's a weird feeling seeing all those names and messages from 2004, like a little digital ghost town that was once really busy. Anyone else have an old site with a visitor counter that just kept going?

Remember those old hit counters that were just a free image from some random site? Mine broke around 2007 and just showed a little red X for years, but the page itself is still up. It's like a monument to a broken tool.

Look at that red X like a badge of honor. It means your page outlasted the company that made the counter. The internet's version of a ghost town.
