Stumbled on a Geocities fan page for a 90s band that still loads perfectly
Was digging through the Wayback Machine and found a Geocities page for a local band called The Stains from Austin, TX, that someone made back in 1998. It's got that classic tiled background, a guestbook that still works somehow, and a MIDI version of their song playing on loop. Made me wonder how many of those old pages are still out there with original content intact. Anyone else got a random 90s site they check up on now and then?

Most of those old pages should have been deleted years ago honestly.

Oh man, totally agree with you @perez.christopher! Some of those older pages are just cluttering up everything and making it harder to find the good stuff. Its like keeping around stuff you havent touched in years just because you might need it someday. I get that nostalgia is a thing but honestly most of those old guides and posts are outdated and not even accurate anymore. A good cleanup would make the whole site feel so much fresher and easier to use. Really glad someone finally said what a lot of us have been thinking for a while now.

Yeah, have you ever tried looking for a specific wiring diagram in those old threads? Half the time the images are broken and the advice is for a code cycle that expired three years ago. I stumbled onto one last week that was telling people to use a grounding method that got outlawed in 2017. It's not just clutter, it's actively hurting people who don't know any better. A good purge would save everyone a lot of headaches, honestly.
