Used to mock Geocities sites hard, now I see the charm

I used to laugh at all those animated GIFs and guestbook pages until I found my old high school band's site on the Wayback Machine from 1999. That raw DIY energy is something modern templates just can't capture. Anyone else go back and look at their cringey old pages for nostalgia?

Wait, did your friend at least try to save any of the glitter or did it just become a total disaster zone? @the_amy that sounds way too familiar actually. My best friend's wedding had a guestbook with those little confetti poppers inside every page and it was a nightmare. People kept accidentally setting them off when they tried to sign and glitter went everywhere. Half the signatures were covered in tiny rainbow specks and you couldn't even read most of the messages. She spent like two hours trying to vacuum glitter out of the pages but it just made it worse. I think she finally gave up and just put the whole thing in a box in her closet.
