Unpopular opinion: You don't need to go to a big museum to see amazing art.
I was walking around the old part of Providence last month and just wandered into a tiny gallery on Wickenden Street. They had these incredible woodblock prints from a local artist named Elena Vance, and I'd never heard of her before. Found out she's been doing this for 15 years but doesn't sell online, only in a couple of small shops. How many other great artists are we missing because they're not pushed by an algorithm? Has anyone else stumbled on a hidden gem like that in their own city?

That bowl that looked like a stormy sky sounds exactly like the kind of thing I love to find. It's such a cool feeling to just bump into art that feels special and personal like that, stuff you know you won't see in a chain store. Makes the whole trip feel lucky.

Ever find something cool in a weird little shop? I got lost in an old part of town once and found this place that only sold pottery made by one guy. His stuff had these wild glazes, like a bowl that looked like a stormy sky. Never saw anything like it online.
