Ran a 200-pound bronze pour last Wednesday and the crucible cracked halfway through

We lost about 60 pounds of metal on the floor and the shift supervisor just stood there staring at the mess for a solid 30 seconds before anyone said anything, has anyone else had a crucible fail mid-pour on a big job like that?

That crucible cracking halfway through sounds like a nightmare." I had a buddy over at a small art foundry in Portland who had the bottom blow out on a 150-pound pour. He said the foreman just sat down right there on the shop floor and didn't say a word for like five minutes, just watched the bronze harden into a puddle.

Idk, I kind of respect the guy. Sometimes you just gotta sit with the failure for a minute, you know? All that time and money wasted, better to just let it sink in than freak out and make things worse.
